This leather writing pad cover is hand sewn and designed to fit composition note books. I started making these covers for some friends who use these note books at work, but wanted something nicer to show up to meetings with.
The covers messure 7.75 x 10.25. There are three card holders on the back cover. To secure the cover there is a belt and brass button closure.
You can purchase one of these writing pad covers on my etsy shop.
This is a custom large guest book for a cabin on Long Lake in the Adirondacks. If you would like a guest book for your home or wedding, shoot me a email or check out my etsy store.
Finished a custom one of a kind guest book with swing lid box. I in-laid a vintage tin type of a wedding couple. I used beautiful letter pressed lined paper that my friend david wolfe makes at Wolfe Editions . The book is for a friends wedding that is going to a shaker museum. So taking a page out of the shaker hand book, I wanted to make something that is going to be usable and last. Some thing that can be handed down. No one has ever said they wanted to inherit there grandmother’s kindle.
It's been a since my last blog post. Since becoming a dad this past May. Its been hard trying to find the balance of keeping the studio going and being a stay at home dad. So far I have learned to be productive with every second I have to myself. As I am writing this I am hearing signs that murphy is waking up from his nap and its time for a bottle.
I wanted to give a heads up! I am going to be doing a campaign this Tuesday September 6th with Localvore. Its a one day event were you can purchase a $20 voucher for $10 for my etsy shop. With every voucher$2 will go to Ronald McDonald House Charity in Burlington, VT. This is a perfect time if you have been thinking about getting a custom guest book for your home or wedding. Again this will be good for anything in my etsy shop, including new items I've been making for the famers markets.
If you don’t know about Localvore check out their website Localvoretoday.com. Its a great organization with locations in Vermont, Maine, Boston and Chicago. They work with restaurants, stores, artists while giving to and highlighting local charities.
Mark your calenders Friday November 6th, K. Collette in Portland Maine. They are hosting an Meet and Greet, I am going to be there with a bunch of amazing artist and makers. If you are in the area you should come on by and check it out.
I am really excited to finally be able to post about this project. A lot of blood sweat and tears went into these binders. Everything on these three ring binders is hand sewn. After the first 15 I could barely hold a the needle.
On this project I had a chance to work with Erik from Weft and Warp, in New Gloucester Maine. Super awesome guy, he makes beautiful stuff you should check his work out. Erik made all the front pockets for this project.
Finished 33 hardcover copies of "Crazy Horse & the Custers" for Nine Point Publishing. 26 copies have red end sheets and are stamped with a black foil on the spine. There are 7 Hors Commerce copies with Marbled end sheet paper by Chena River Paper Marblers, in Amherst Mass, and stamped with silver foil on the spine. The covers of the book are a black stonehenge paper letterpressed by David Wolfe of Wolfe Editions in Portland Maine.
The books are getting packed and sent to the Poet William Heyen and ArtistDeLoss McGraw for signing, while I start working on the swing lid boxes.
Well July is flying by and the studio is in full swing. So before the month totally gets away from me, I wanted to post that August 1st I will be in Portland Maine for Picnic. I will be there with a bunch of new books as well as some cool old maps for sale. After picnic I am taking a weekend off and I will be back at the Burlington Farmers Market Saturday August 15th.
I am really excited you now can find my books at two new awesome shops. One is the Birdfolk Collective right here in Vermont. The other is the Good Supply up in Pemaquid Maine. Both shops carry a great verity of handmade items, and I am lucky to be one of them.
