New Lincoln Long Cabin Books

So I just finished a bunch of new Lincoln Long Cabin books for this weekends Maine Boatbuilders Show, to go along with my Nautical Chart Guest and Ship's Log books. Two of the Lincoln Long Cabin books I actually used the kwik print to print onto the belt of the books. I set type for the last verse of Robert Frosts, "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening". I was also able to try out a new method to fastening the belt into the books.dski-design-tonights-work dski-cabin-chestnut-1 dski-cabin-chestnut-2 dski-cabin-chestnut-3 dski-cabin-chestnut-4 dski-cabin-chestnut-5 dski-cabin-chestnut-rfrost-1 dski-cabin-chestnut-rfrost-2 dski-cabin-chestnut-rfrost-3 dski-cabin-chestnut-rfrost-4 dski-cabin-chestnut-rfrost-5 dski-cabin-chestnut-rfrost-6 dski-cabin-chestnut-rfrost-7 dski-cabin-large-chestnut-1 dski-cabin-large-chestnut-2 dski-cabin-large-lt-brown-1 dski-cabin-large-lt-brown-2 dski-cabin-large-lt-brown-3 dski-cabin-mini-chestnut-rfrost dski-cabin-mini-rfrost-1 dski-cabin-mini-rfrost-2 dski-cabin-mini-rfrost-3

Recent Work

So since I have moved into my new studio, I  kind of hit the ground running. So I have been able to post much, so here are few images of projects I have been working one. The first project is repair job I did for a client. I had to take apart the text block, mend some pages, then sew the text block back together. The re-backed it with new boards and a leather spine.

The second project which I just finished, was making paper boxes for a print artist name Adriane Herman. I made 38 paper boxes to store and ship a group print project she has been working on.

Guest Book and Wedding Invitations

Finished a long and link stitch wedding guest book, and designed the invitations to go along with the guest book. The guest book we had the spine hot stamped with their names and date of the wedding. I also added a drift wood button to the cover of the book.

For the invitations we digitally printed the map and then the rest of the invitation letter pressed by my friend mark at Dunstan Press. Emily and Kate actually added the blue paper to the invitations to give it a little more pop. In stead if doing a normal RSVP card we made it into a post card with the map of Casco Bay.

Finished Print for the Frame Show

Finished my print for the June Frame Show at Pinecone and Chickadee. For this piece I wanted to try and make something different. The past few shows I have done, I always made some kind of vector print in the computer. So this time I made a speedball print. For the past couple of months I have been getting back into making more linoleum and speedball prints. With this print I cut two blocks and try a different combinations of colors, papers and printing order. When I was happy with a combination, I then bound with some more paper to the mat board with a chain stitch. I wanted to give this piece a story book feel. dski-design-foxprint-1a dski-design-foxprint-2 dski-design-foxprint-2a dski-design-foxprint-3 dski-design-foxprint-5 dski-design-foxprint-6 dski-design-foxprint-8 dski-design-foxprint-9 dski-design-foxprint-10 dski-design-foxprint-13 dski-design-foxprint-11
